Rome and Naples Tour Daily Itinerary

Your Rome and Naples tour package begins in Rome. In Rome the trip itinerary includes ample free time to discover the “Eternal City.” Additionally, there are included guided tours to sightseeing highlights. First, you’ll tour the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. Then, in Rome, you’ll tour its famed piazzas and fountains. You may join an optional tour the Colosseum.

Afterward the tour continues to Southern Italy. There you’ll enjoy three nights in the exciting city of Naples.

While in Naples you’ll tour the famed Amalfi Coast. Excursions along the Amalfi Coast include visits to Ravello and Amalfi. Moreover, there is a tour of Pompeii, the ancient Roman city destroyed in 79AD by the volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. Finally, there is an excursion the the Isle of Capri.

Day 1 – Depart United States for Flight to Italy

Flights depart the Untied States and fly overnight to Rome Italy. You will arrive the following morning, Day 2.

Day 2 – Rome day at leisure

Morning arrival into Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Airport. Upon arrival you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure.

Day 3 – Rome’s Piazzas and Fountains

This morning, embark on a guided tour of Classical Rome. Stroll along cobbled laneways. Along the way stop by the Spanish Steps, one of Rome’s most recognizable landmarks immortalized in countless postcards and films. Then toss a coin in the magnificent Trevi Fountain to ensure a return to Rome. Afterward see Piazza Navona, one of the finest Baroque masterpieces in papal Rome, and imagine it as the Ancient Stadium of Domitian capable of holding 30 thousand spectators in the ancient times.

Then, the afternoon is at leisure to discover the Eternal City on your own, for some shopping or to join an optional tour of the Roman Forum and Colosseum.

Day 4 – Vatican City and tour of Vatican Museum

This morning, experience a very special privately guided tour of the priceless collection of art and treasures in the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museum. Afterward the rest of the day at leisure to relax or discover why Roman trattorias are famous for their fine cuisine.

Tonight, bid arrivederci to Rome at a special festive dinner with wine and music in one of the most famous restaurants in Trastevere.

Day 5 – Rome to Naples with tour of Pompeii

This morning, the tour departs Rome for Naples.

This morning, before heading to Naples, stop in Pompeii, the ancient city covered by volcanic lava 2,000 years ago, for a guided tour of the remarkably preserved ruins of temples, houses, gardens and public buildings.

Continue your journey to Naples, often referred to as the “city of a thousand colors”. This nickname reflects the vibrant and diverse colors found throughout the city, from its architecture and street art to its food and culture. (B)

Day 6 – Tour from Naples Down Amalfi Coast to Ravello and Amalfi

Today, enjoy a guided excursion to the world-renowned Amalfi Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This coastal road along the southern edge of Italy’s Sorrentine Peninsula offers breathtaking views of a rugged shoreline dotted with picturesque fishing villages, small beaches, terraced vineyards, and lemon groves.

After a brief stop at the Belvedere for a unique view of Positano’s Moorish architecture blended with pastel color houses, continue to the lovely towns of Amalfi and Ravello.

Enjoy a “Limoncello tasting” during the tour. Made only by lemons, sugar and pure alcohol, it is the most famous produced liqueur in the south of Italy.

Day 7 – Tour to Capri

A morning jetfoil whisks you across the blue Bay of Naples to the fabled Isle of Capri, where you will ascend to the Piazzetta, visit the Floral Gardens of Caesar Augustus, and still have free time for lunch and some shopping before returning to Sorrento.

Tonight dinner is at a local restaurant.
