Day 5 Gondola Ride with Music
One of the highlights of any Italian holiday! Enjoy a relaxing gondola ride with music along the famous Grand Canal, and experience a piece of Venetian history. Glide along the centuries old canals, past lavish palaces and under famous arched bridges (the Gondola holds a maximum of six passengers. Please note that this is not a private gondola ride. There will be one musician on board of one of the gondolas in your fleet).

Day 7 Full Day Cinque Terre from Montecatini
Today, travel to the spectacular Cinque Terre, one of the most beautiful areas of the Liguria region. Here, the five small villages of Rio Maggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza & Monte Rosso are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your tour will include a visit to at least two of these spectacular villages, nestled in the cliffs overlooking the sea and the surrounding hillsides. This active trip covers a fair amount of ground. Expect from three to four hours walking where you will encounter some uneven surfaces, stairs, steps and significant slopes. Trains and/or boats will be the means of transportation.

Day 8 Full Day Siena from Montecatini
Enjoy a tour of the medieval city of Siena, site of the famous Horserace of Palio. This traditional race takes place each year on July 2nd and August 16th, and runs in celebration of the holy apparition and assumption of the Virgin Mary, patron saint of the city. Tour Campo Square and St. Dominic’s Church before returning to Montecatini.
Day 12 Full Day Capri
Enjoy a full day journey to the colorful Isle of Capri by boat. Visit the lovely Anacapri and explore the charming shops and chic boutiques as you stroll the island’s narrow streets. Continue to see “La Piazzetta,” the social heart of the island, on your way to the open-air Gardens of Augustus, from where you will appreciate breathtaking views of the famous Faraglioni rocks. Tour includes: local guide, round trip transportation to port, round trip transportation by fast boat, minibus or cable car transportation on the island.

Day 14 Piazzas of Rome
This half day walking tour takes you to explore the grand piazzas of the Eternal City. Stand in awe in front of the majestic Spanish Steps, the longest and widest decorative steps in Europe, and with your local guide stroll through the most characteristic “piazzas and vias ” of Rome. Stop to admire the breathtaking grandeur of the Trevi Fountain and take the opportunity to toss in one, two, or three coins, each of which is supposed to bring a unique kind of good fortune. View the monumental Pantheon, the best preserved of any Roman building and admire the baroque Piazza Navona, which follows the shape of the ancient Roman Diocletian Stadium, with Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers and the Egyptian Obelisk.

Transfer from Milan to the relaxing and beautiful Italian Lakes region, either Lake Maggiore or Lake Como depnding on departure date. After two relaxing nights there you’ll head for Venice. The trip across Italy’s north iincludes an excursion to Northern Italy’s charming town Verona. Made famous by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Verona’s ancient Roman heritage enchants all visitors.

DAY 2 – Arrive in Milan, Transfer to Como
Arrive in Milan and transfer to your hotel. Monday departures stay in Baveno on Lake Maggiore. Wednesday and Saturday departures stay in Como on Lake Como. The balance of the day is at your leisure. This evening, enjoy an orientation meeting with your tour escorted, followed by a welcome dinner at a local restaurant to celebrate the kick off of your Italian Lakes, Venice, Tuscany, Amalfi Coast, Rome Tour.

Cruise Lake Maggiore to Isola Bella, visit the palace of Prince Borromeo, and its splendid gardens with the famous white peacocks. DAY 5 – Venice City Tour
Today begins with a boat ride to the Island of Murano, known throughout the world for its fine glasswork industry. Then, visit St. Mark’s Square to begin a guided walking tour of romantic Venice. View the Golden Basilica of San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs and the Doge’s Palace, whose facade features a massive late-Gothic gate, known as the Porta della Carta. DAY 6 – Lucca Sightseeing En Route to Montecatini

DAY 10 – Travel to Southern Italy
Depart Montecatini, driving south to Southern Italy. Along the way, we stop for lunch in the hills of Lazio, a region of central Italy bordered by the Tyrrhenian Sea. Thursday tour departures stay in the exciting city of Naples, the longest continually inhabited city in history, having been founded by the ancient greeks 5000 years ago. Saturday departures stay in the seaside resort town Sorrento. Both locations are located on the Bay of Naples, where you will be welcomed by the spectacular panoramic views and by the sapphire blue waters of the Gulf of Naples. DAY 13 – Tour of Pomepii en route to Rome
This morning you will tour Pomepii. Your escorted tour includes the Temples of Apollo and Jupiter, and the ancient Roman Forum. After the Pompeii tour you will depart Southern Italy for Rome. Along the way north you’ll pass the famous Monte Cassino Abbey. This site was originally where the ancient Romans built a Temple to Apollo. St. Benedict of Norcia founded his first monastery here in 529. The Benedictine Abbey occupies a strategic location. It was destroyed on four separate occasions by various invaders. Most recently the allies bombed it during WWII. It was rebuilt and dedicated in 1964. This evening arrive in Rome and enjoy an evening at leisure
