Rome and Amalfi Coast Tour by Train Daily Itinerary
Small group tour of Rome and Southern Italy includes the sightseeing highlights in Rome, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. Enjoy fast travel by train between Rome and Naples.
DAY 1 – TRAVEL TO ITALY
Board your overnight flight to fly from the United States to Italy.
DAY 2 – ROME
Upon arrival make your way to your hotel in Rome city center. Take your time to settle and relax, then in the afternoon meet your Tour Leader and group and go for a guided stroll throughout the alleys of Baroque Rome.
Along the included walking tour of Rome’s historic center, you will admire the best of Rome’s piazzas including the Piazza Navona and the Pantheon. You will even have the possibility to make a wish, throwing a coin into the legendary Fontana di Trevi. Doing so guarantees your return to Rome.

DAY 3 – ROME
The entire day at your leisure or you may choose from optional tours such as Colosseum and Ancient Rome tour, Borghese Gallery tour if you prefer to learn more about local art and history, or maybe a fun Pizza Making Cooking Class to learn the secrets of the most famous Italian dish.

DAY 4 – ROME
This morning take advantage of the Hop-on/Hop-off bus to get a panoramic tour of the “eternal city”. At the Vatican Museums your “skip-the-line” ticket will grant you access to the museum without waiting on line. Inside visit the breathtaking masterpieces, as well as a great variety of galleries, with ancient sculptures, tapestry, middle-age maps, paintings, and stunning relics. At the end of the Vatican Museum is the Sistine Chapel. Afterward head into St Peter’s Basilica. There you will admire the Pietà di Michelangelo and Bernini’s incredible altar in bronze.

DAY 5 – ROME TO SORRENTO VIA POMPEII
In the morning, after breakfast in the hotel, get on the high-speed train to Naples
After an hour’s journey by train, you will begin your wonderful day with a tour on the Sorrentine peninsula, stopping to see the extraordinary Pompeii and its magic. Let the dramatic history of the Roman city, destroyed and buried by the eruption of the Vesuvius in 79 A.D, touch you. You will walk among the ruins of this mysterious city.
Later you will stop for lunch.
Later you will continue to Sorrento, where your hotel, facing the sea, awaits you. The dinner will be at the hotel and afterward, you can enjoy the rest of the evening at your pleasure. Overnight in the hotel.

DAY 6 – CAPRI
After breakfast, it is time to discover the island of Capri, a fascinating oasis for artists, writers, and celebrities, famous for Italian fashion brands and local hand-crafted shops. Visit the village of Anacapri, located 1,800 feet above sea level. Here, you can take a chairlift to Monte Solaro, spend your time exploring Villa San Michele and the Axel Munthe Gardens, or enjoy lunch in a typical local restaurant.
Later we will go to visit the famous Piazzetta in Capri, where you can admire the amazing views out over the gulf. Walk along the most beautiful street until the August Gardens. Here, you can see the famous Faraglioni, the distinctive rocks.
At the end of the trip, you will embark on the hydrofoil to return to Sorrento. The dinner will be at the hotel and afterward, you can enjoy the rest of the evening at your pleasure.

DAY 7 – AMALFI COAST CRUISE
Today depart for a full day excursion to the Amalfi Coast. A breathtaking landscape connects the two “pearls” of the Amalfi Coast: Positano, with its beautiful terraces overlooking the sea, and Amalfi, with its combination of colors that create a unique spectacle.
Sail along the coast where you will see the ruins of a roman villa near “Bagni della Regina Giovanna”, the Island of Li Galli, Nerano, and Fiordo di Furore. Explore the towns of Amalfi and Positano and take unique pictures!
The dinner will be at the hotel and afterward, you can enjoy the rest of the evening at your pleasure.

DAY 8 – SORRENTO
At the end of the tour, all you need is a relaxing day dedicated to shopping and the discovery of the Sorrentine peninsula. Therefore, we offer you a whole day of distraction where you can dive into the hotel’s swimming pool, sunbathe at the beautiful beaches or stroll the lovely city center of Sorrento.
At night enjoy a typical Sorrentine dinner to say farewell to your new friends.

DAY 9 – SORRENTO
