Our destination is the ancient stone house of Machiavelli, where the great political theorist wrote his immortal work, ‘The Prince’. After a welcome drink and visit of the villa and its

The Italy tour Rome Florence Venice itinerary includes 3 nights in each of Italy’s big 3 cities. This is a leisurely paced Italy tour. There is plenty of time for strolling and exploring.
Your journey through Italy starts in Rome where you’ll visit the Vatican Museum to see one of the biggest and most valuable art collections in the world. The Vatican Tour also includes the Sistine Chapel.
After 3 nights in Rome it’s off to Florence. On the way to Florence you’ll stop along the way in Assisi to see Giotto’s frescoes in the St Francis’ Basilica. You will also visit Santa Maria Degli Angeli, Saint Mary of the Angels. Then the tour continues on to Florence where you will stay for 3 nights. In Florence sightseeing highlights a walking tour of Florence, the birth place of the Renaissance. We’ll walk Florence’s highlights including Piazza Signoria to see the various sculptures by the masters, and then on to Brunelleschi’s masterpiece Florence’s Duomo, and Ghiberti’s masterpiece the Baptistry’s Bronze Doors. From Florence we also take a trip out to Pisa and a dinner in an authentic Castle in the hills of Tuscany.

Day 3 – ROME SIGHTSEEING
Your included sightseeing tour with a Local Guide begins at the Vatican Museums. Admire Michelangelo’s magnificent fresco ceiling in the Sistine Chapel. We’ll enjoy a rare opportunity to board a train within the Vatican Walls bound for the Pontifical Villas of Castel Gandolfo, the Pope’s Summer Residence. Here, we’ll embark on a tour through its beautifully manicured green heart before enjoying an included lunch against the backdrop of this enchanting setting. This afternoon return to Rome with free time discovering more of the city or relax at a pavement café and watch the world go by.

Day 5 ROME – ASSISI – FLORENCE (3 NIGHTS)
Drive north to the mystical town of Assisi on the slopes of Mount Subasio. Your Local Guide shows you all the sights. Visit St. Francis’ Basilica and see Giotto’s enchanting frescoes. Visit the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, which stands on the site where St. Francis died. Arrive later in Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance.

Learn about Florence’s rich cultural history during your sightseeing tour with your Local Guide. See Piazza Signoria, with its impressive sculptures and imposing palazzi, and the multi-coloured marble Duomo and Baptistery, famous for its bronze doors with relief sculptures. View the Ponte Vecchio, one of the city’s most famous landmarks.
Day 7 – FLORENCE – EXCURSION TO PISA
Cross the Arno Valley to Pisa, a former maritime city on the Ligurian Sea. In the Square of Miracles, home to some of the city’s most famous sights, see the incredible Leaning Tower and the beautifully sculpted marble Cathedral. See the Baptistery and the cemetery, built on soil brought from Calvary in the Holy Land. Spend free time shopping for souvenirs in Florence, renowned for high quality leather and 18-carat gold jewellery. This evening, travel to a Tuscan wine and olive oil estate for a special Be My Guest Dinner in a historic castle.

Travel through the Apennines to Bologna, home to one of the oldest universities in Europe and famous for sausages and salamis!
