On this moderately paced tour of Italy you’ll enjoy multiple night stays in Rome, Florence, Venice, Sorrento in southern Italy and Stresa in the northern Italian Lakes District. In Rome included tours of the Vatican Museum, Ancient Roman Forum, and Rome’s piazzas will introduce you to Rome’s Christian history, ancient history, and Baroque period. You’ll discover more about ancient Rome in Pompeii located in southern Italy’s Campania region. In Florence you’ll discover Renaissance treasures at the Accademia including Michelangelo’s David. DAY 6: SORRENTO COAST – ISLE OF CAPRI – SORRENTO COAST
A scenic boat ride* brings you to the enchanting Isle of Capri. Upon arrival, take a panoramic ride to the island’s highest town, Anacapri. DAY 7: SORRENTO COAST – FLORENCE
Today Tuscany unfolds with its vista of vineyards and olive groves. Florence, the “Cradle of the Italian Renaissance,” awaits offering Italy’s best art and architecture. Visit the Academy Gallery to see Michelangelo’s magnificent sculpture of David. This evening, it’s Diner’s Choice…tonight your dinner is included and you’ll choose the perfect spot from a “menu” of Florence’s great restaurants.

DAY 8: FLORENCE
Learn the traditional Italian techniques of leather making at a family-owned leather shop. A locally guided tour highlights the Piazza Del Duomo, with its Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and the famous Gates of Paradise on the Baptistery of St. John. You also view the magnificent Piazza della Signoria with its imposing Palazzo Vecchio. End your day with an informative explanation of Florentine gold and its fascinating techniques at a local gold shop.

DAY 9: FLORENCE – PISA – VENICE
Visit the ancient maritime Republic of Pisa to discover the Piazza Dei Miracoli, the Duomo (Cathedral) and the famous Leaning Tower.
