DAY 1 – Depart for Italy

Flights from the United States to Italy typically fly overnight and arrive the following morning. Submit form with the preferred airport you would like to fly from to book your Italy tour with airfare.

DAY 2 – Comprehensive Italy Tour Begins in Rome

This morning you’ll arrive in Rome. Known as the “Eternal City” because of long and important history. After check-in to your hotel get out and stroll around. This evening you’ll you’re your tour director and fellow travelers at the welcome reception, which includes dinner with wine.

DAY 3 – Vatican Tour

This morning you’ll visit St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican City.

Then cross the Tiber river to see the Circus Maximus and learn about the history, the construction and the legends of the iconic Colosseum on a guided visit. Imagine the roar of the spectators as you enter the arena and stroll around picturing the gladiators and their adoring fans.

Afterward, you have free time to explore Rome independently.

DAY 4 – Travel from Rome to Sorrento

This morning your tour departs Rome for the colorful and lively Campania region. Your destination is Sorrento located on a cliff above the Bay of Naples with views of Capri and Mt. Vesuvius.

DAY 5 – Visit Capri

This morning you’ll travel by high-speed ferry across the Bay of Naples to reach the Isle of Capri. Jutting straight out of the Mediterranean Sea, the beauty of this rock island has attracted tourists for over 2,000 years. From Ancient Roman Emperors to modern day superstars. Upon arriving you’ll take the funicular to the main piazza. You’ll have time to browse the boutiques full of Made in Italy fashions and designs. You may also want to relax, enjoy an espresso, and enjoy the views.

DAY 6 – Pompeii to Todi

Journey to the ancient Roman city of Pompeii and explore this extraordinary site with your Local Expert.

DAY 8 – Umbria Sightseeing: Assisi and Perugia

In Assisi, see St. Clare’s Church and the cathedral. Continue to walk down the Via San Francesco and visit the huge Basilica of St. Francis with a Local Expert.

Then, journey to beautiful Perugia, the jewel of Umbria. Your guided walking exploration begins in the main street of Perugia’s Old Town. See the Collegio del Cambio, the splendid Priors’ Palace, the Cathedral and the finely sculptured Great Fountain in the magnificent main square.

DAY 9 – Perugia Tour

DAY 10 – Umbria to Florence

Journey past Lake Trasimeno to Renaissance Florence.

On arrival you will walk with a Local Expert to see the marble-clad cathedral, bell tower and Gates of Paradise on the baptistery. Enjoy time at leisure to explore Piazza della Signoria, still the political heart of Florence and an open-air gallery of Renaissance masterpieces. DAY 12 – Tuscany: Florence to Lucca

Later, you could take the opportunity to explore Pisa.

DAY 13 – Cinque Terre Tour

Today you’ll visit one of Italy’s most picturesque areas, the Cinque Terre, or ‘five villages’, that for years, were only accessible by donkey. The day includes a cruise weather permitting along the coast where you’ll enjoy views of the rugged coast and villages set into the cliffs.

DAY 14 – Lucca to Parma

DAY 15 – Modena & Venice

DAY 16 – Venice Tour
