The entire Amalfi coastline boasts picturesque beaches.  The well-known main beaches of Positano such as Spiaggia Grande attract crowds for their popularity. Similarily, the town of Amalfi attracts tourist from across the world. Therefore, the beach in Amalfi is always popular.

The hidden beaches along the Amalfi Coast offer a more intimate and peaceful experience. There are several secret beaches of Amalfi that are tricker to get to, making them less crowded. These are some of our favorite beaches on the Amalfi Coast to enjoy a little corner of paradise.

Furore Fjord and Furore Beach

For those seeking a more secluded beach visit Furore Fjord (Fiordo di Furore). This hidden gem is within a deep fjord. Behind the beach and around are towering cliffs.

The pristine turquoise waters and the sound of crashing waves create a unparalleled romantic ambiance. Couples can enjoy a leisurely swim. Or simply lounge on the rocks.

It’s perfect for those seeking a day at the beach with peace and serenity away from the more famous beaches.

Marina di Praia (Praiano Beach)

Another must-visit beach is Marina di Praia. Located in the center of the Amalfi Coast, between Positano and Amalfi. The location is surrounded by cliffs.

The lovely beach offers breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. This small but beautiful pebble beach offers a sense of tranquillity. The spot is perfect for sunbathing and swimming. It’s the perfect place to spend some time in a little corner of paradise.

Arienzo Beach

Arienzo Beach, Bagni D’Arienzo, is an unique beach experience. Located in Positano, Its difficult location makes it less crowded than its neighboring Amalfi drive beaches. The beach is mostly rock pebbles. Its azure waters provide an idyllic setting for a day of relaxation and swimming. It is one of the smaller beaches.

This beach may be reached by boat through the Arienzo Beach Club. The club offers amenities such as loungers, beach towels and umbrellas available. There is also a restaurant and bar. This way you can enjoy a cool drink and bite while enjoying hours in the sun.

The public section is also accessible by a walk down to the beach way down long flights of steps.

Santa Croce Beach

Santa Croce beach is located west of Amalfi. For those looking for a unique day this beach is tucked away in a cove only accessible by boat.

This beach is mostly rocks, larger than pebbles, with crystalline waters.

Two restaurants offer transportation by boat from Amalfi to Santa Croce Beach. These are Ristorante da Teresa and Ristorante Santa Croce.

To use the boat service plan to dine at their restaurant and rent a lounger for the day.

You could use a separate boat service not connected to the restuarants to reach the beach. But it is not comfortable to put down a towel. The beach is rocky. Therefore, we suggest the restaurant method.

We consider it one of the best beaches of the Amalfi Coast because of its location.  It is not the most popular beach, which makes it nice.

An easier way to reach this little beach is by boat from Amalfi pier. Small boats run about every hour.

The beach itself offers a mix of sand and pebbles.  The water like the other beaches on the Amalfi Coast offers place to swim and frolic.  The beach has crystal clear water. There is plenty of marine life, which kept us busy on a nice summer afternoon while snorkeling.

We enjoyed our summer beach day on Atrani Beach. It’s a charming and relatively less crowded spot compared to some of the more famous beaches along the coast like Positano or Amalfi.

Atrani Beach offers stunning views of the surrounding cliffs and the colorful buildings often seen on postcards from the Amalfi Coast.

The water is typically clear and inviting for swimming.

Keep in mind that during the summer months, it can still get quite busy. We arrived early to find a nice spot on the beach to claim as or own. We rented sun loungers with an umbrella. And for lunch we decided to hit one of the beachside cafes.

Gavitella Beach

gavitella beach

Gavitella Beach is located near Praiano, a small village on the Amalfi Coast. This beach captivated us with its pristine beauty and panoramic vistas.  To reach the water’s edge you must traverse steep steps. But its worth the walk down.

A unique qaulity of this beach is it faces west. Due to its position this is one of the beaches in the early afternoon through the rest of the day that receives sun. And at the end of the day it offers a nice sunset. Its western exposure is certainly one of the best things about this beach.

While the beach may not feature traditional sandy stretches, its distinctive pebble composition adds to its allure, providing a serene setting for visitors to enjoy the natural beauty of the Amalfi Coast.

The clear turquoise water is perfect for sunbathing and swimming.

The Cala della Gavitella Beach Club offers nice amenities such as umbrellas and chairs. This is key since we wanted to spend a comfortable summer afternoon.

One notable nearby attraction is the Grotta dello Smeraldo (Emerald Grotto), a stunning sea cave known for its mesmerizing emerald-green waters and unique geological formations. Additionally, closeby coves and beaches such as La Gavitella Cove offer secluded spots for swimming and exploring.
