Giuseppe Verdi, who was one of the most famous music composers in history, was from Parma. It is a perfect occasion to experience an Opera concert in the land of origin and visit a very pretty and charming town in northern Italy. During your stay in Parma you will be able to savor the famous Prosciutto and Parmigiano cheese, you will also dine in a local restaurant and discover why Emilia Romagna is the region in Italy famous for the excellent cuisine among other attractions.

Day 1: Welcome to Parma and Opera
Pick-up at train station in Bologna. Transfer by private car or minibus to hotel in Parma. Arrival and accommodation in hotel. Time to rest and prepare for the Theatre.At about 07.00pm, leave on foot for the theater. At 08.00pm the starts Opera representation at the Teatro Regio di Parma or at the Teatro Farnese. Dinner after-theater featuring local Parma cuisine after concert at Restaurant in town. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Parma
Breakfast at the hotel. Then at about 8:00AM meet your guide at the hotel in Parma. Then you will travel by private vehicle private to a dairy farm producing Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. You must leave early as the process at the diary farm only occurs early in the morning.
After seeing the process you will enjoy a little tasting of Parmigiano Reggiano and chance to purchase typical products directly from the producer.
After you will return to Parma’s old-town center. There you will enjoy a walking tour. The tour will pass by Parma sightseeing highlights including: Farnese Theatre, Cathedral, Baptistery, St John’s Church. Then there is an optional visit to Arturo Toscanini’s Birth House or an interesting House of Music and House of Sound.
After the walking tour you’ll enjoy an authentic lunch in Parma at a typical Verdi haunt.
After lunch you’ll travel by private vehicle to the Emilia Romagna hills outside Parma. It is there where the world renown Prosciutto di Parma is produced. Upon arrival at a production facility you’ll learn about the natural process and enjoy a tasting.
After the prosciutto di Parma tasting return to Parma for an additional night.
Day 3 – Parma area sightseeeing and departure
You may want to add an optional visit to the Torrechiara Castle or to the Fondazione Magnani Rocca villa, garden and amazing paintings gallery.
Private vehicle transfer to Bologna for drop off at the train station. Or, you have the option of traveling by private vehicle to Florence or Venice or the Italian Lakes.
