Day 1 – Depart the United States
Depart the United States for Italy on an overnight flight. Submit the form for the Italy airfare price from your preferred departure airport.
Day 2 Arrive in Rome, Italy
Today you’ll arrive Rome after your overnight flight from the United States. Check in to your hotel. Then if you have time take a stroll around. This evening at 5PM you’ll meet your tour director and fellow travelers for a welcome reception and authentic Roman welcome dinner.
Day 3 Rome
Today you’ll enjoy a day sightseeing Rome’s highlights. First you’ll visit Vatican City. You’ll be joined by a local expert guide who will escort you through the Vatican Museum. This priceless collection of art provides unparalleled insight into the history of Western Civilization. Your tour includes the Bramante Staircase typically not opened the public. After the Vatican Museum you’ll visit the Sistine Chapel where Michelangelo’s famous Last Judgement fresco adorns the ceiling. Then the tour continues to St Peter’s Basilica where you’ll see Michelangelo’s famous sculpture the Pietà. In addition to Michelangelo you’ll see the work by the architect of Baroque Rome Bernini. Day 5 Florence
This morning you’ll enjoy a guided tour of Florence’s sightseeing highlights. The tour includes a visit to the Accademia to see Michelangelo’s David. The walking tour of Florence’s historic center includes visiting the Duomo with Bernini’s Dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery with it bronze doors designed by Ghiberti and dubbed “Gates of Paradise” by Michelangelo, and Signoria Square famous for the outdoor sculptures from the Renaissance period.
Day 6 Florence – Pisa – Venice
Today you’ll travel from Florence to Venice located in the northern Italian region Veneto. Along the way you’ll enjoy an excursion to Pisa. There you’ll have time to stroll around the Field of Miracles. This square, which includes the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Baptistery, and the Cathdeal, is a work of architectural genius. After Pisa you’ll continue on to Venice. After checking in at your hotel you’ll enjoy an included authentic Venetian dinner.

Day 7 Venice Island
Today you’ll wake up in the magical city Venice. You’ll start the day with a private boat ride to St Mark’s Square. There you’ll meet a local expert Venice tour guide who will lead you through Venice’s sightseeing highlights. The tour includes St Mark’s Basilica, The Doge’s Palace, and the Bridge of Sights. You’ll also see Venetian artisans perform the art of glassblowing on the island of Giudecca. Then you’ll board a Gondola for a serenade through Venice’s canals.
Day 8 Venice – Assisi
Leave Venice and continue through to peaceful Assisi, one of Italy’s most beautiful mountain towns. First, in the valley, see the famous Church of St. Mary of the Angels, much venerated as the place of St. Francis’ death, then continue up Mount Subasio to the upper town. Step inside the huge Basilica of St. Francis, built in the 13th century, where the frescoes by Giotto heralded the transition from Medieval to Renaissance art. This evening you’ll enjoy Umbrian cuisine at an included dinner.

Day 9 Assisi – Sorrento
Today you’ll depart early from Assisi to Sorrento. Along the way you’ll stop for a demonstration of ‘intarsio’ or marquetry wood inlaying before continuing to your hotel. After check in enjoy a stroll around the resort town. You may want to indulge in a classic Neapolitan dinner such as a margherita pizza with a limoncello to wash it down.
Day 10 Capri Excursion
This morning you’l cruise across the Bay of Naples to the Isle of Capri. With Mt Veusvius towering over the bay, the vibrant city of Naples on one side and the Sorrentine Peninsula on the other, the view are drop dead gorgeous. Upon arrival in Capri you’ll have time to stroll around its main center and narrow alleyway offshoots. Enjoy the Made in Italy fashionable boutiques, an espresso, gelato or nice southern Italian leisurely lunch. You also have time to cruise around the island before returning to Sorrento. Find some time to freshen before this evenings celebration dinner.

Day 11 Pompeii Excursion and return to Rome
This morning you’ll tour Pompeii. This ancient Roman city was preserved by layers of ash from the disastrous eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD79. You’ll be guided around its sights by a local expert tour guide who will bring the cobblestone streets to life with stories and context of the extensive excavations reveals the daily life of Roman civilization. After the tour of Pompeii you’ll continue to Rome for the final night.
